Close to Fargo - Far from Busy

Just about 25 minutes from Fargo, Kindred offers the perfect balance between peaceful small-town life and convenient access to metro amenities. Residents enjoy easy commutes to work, shopping, dining and entertainment — while still coming home to a quieter pace and open skies.

Kindred is located approximately 20 miles southwest of Fargo and offers convenient access to both I-29 and I-94.

Schools

At the heart of Kindred is its public school system — where education is student-centered and community-supported.

The district serves students from early childhood through high school with a strong commitment to learning, character and community connection. In Kindred, school functions and teams often become community gatherings — reinforcing a sense of belonging and shared pride.

The Kindred Public School District includes the communities of Kindred, Davenport, Hickson, Leonard, Oxbow and Walcott.

Parks & Recreation

Kindred offers recreational opportunities for all ages through the Kindred Park Board.

Kindred opened a new swimming pool in 2015 at the city park directly across from the elementary school. The city park also includes a picnic shelter, basketball courts, playground and the Memorial Building (available for special events and parties).

Gilbertson Park backs to Newport Ridge and is located next to the Baseball & Softball Complexes.
